Time for Reflections - On the radio.

I was discussing with Mary in the comments box the fact that I have a number of old tapes from radio programs I used to present many many years ago. One of the programs was called "Time for Reflections". It was a Christian program lasting half-an-hour, (sometimes more if I had a guest on the show or a special event), and it aired on a Sunday afternoon. The show consisted of Christian music, Bible readings and me talking about something or other. Very little planning took place!

This Blog was named "Time for Reflections" in memory of that program.

Anyway, some time ago I re-visited those old tapes. Sadly, tapes tend to deteriorate with age, like most of us I presume, ... ehm ... what I mean is ... our looks change a bit ... although we remain just as lovable I'm sure ... (Phew ... just about got away with this faux pas I hope!).

As I was saying, tapes deteriorate with time, so I tried as best I could to re-master some of them and record them on CD.

Here's a short clip from an old "Time for Reflections" program ... takes me down memory lane with a tear in my eye!

  1. Victor, This is wonderful and it sounded none the worse for wear. So much for meditation in this little clip. I especially like your thoughts on thanking God for the way things are right now. That helps us to live in the present moment. As St Paul tells us in Thessolonians: In everything, give thanks.
Thanks for this clip with its wise words and beautiful music. God bless.

  2. Hello Karinann,

I was so pleased to be able to save some tapes from my old radio programs.

  3. Victor,
This sounded great! Yes, we humans have a tendency to run to God when we are in trouble and forget to thank Him for all the wonderful gifts which pervade our lives every single day. Thanks for sharing this with us. This clip definitely gives us something to think about when it comes to gratitude in good times as well as bad. I'm glad you were able to save some of these clips. God bless you, Victor!

  4. Hi Mary,

You and Karinann are right. People never remember to thank God for what is good right NOW! They forget and then run to Him when things go wrong.

    God bless you.

  5. Absolutely wonderful reflection...one I needed to hear today!!! Thanksgiving takes many forms and not always in words. Perhaps it is in a reciprocal act that I fail to recognize. I need to begin again! Today I will be grateful for all acts of kindness. AND the music from the Theme from Exodus is one of my favorite!!! Thank YOU so much! Cathy

  6. Greetings Cathy,

What wonderful wisdom in your comments. Yes, we can always say "thank you" in a reciprocal act.

I used to find the intro music from Exodus quite stirring when I started, and finished, the program. I used to say a silent prayer as the music started and before I went "on air".

Thank you Cathy, and God bless.

  9. Victor,
You are a man of many talents! A radio show presenter? While that was news, it didn't really surprise me. I can just imagine you sitting there, chatting and sharing. How many shows did you record?

    God bless.
